Aquí va el penúltimo de los textos en inglés del ciclo tétrico:
LETHE
There is laughter, unique
in its kind, it is true. But everything else that causes happiness exists only
in the memory, it only becomes clear and conspicuous when no longer exists, and
that’s why forgetfulness is the worst of the calamities, because the omission
of thought ends with all the permanence of which life is able, because no one
dies completely until forgotten. And yet, the deep trench of memory tireless strives
to go slowly taking what is left of us so far, in a relentless battle in which
one can only end up losing, we can only surrender to collapse, in the belief
that we shouldn’t even forget what we have suffered, because that memory is the
one that must make more and more difficult to suffer again.
